
Falsely positive results
It's time for you to report a business that has misleading or false reviews. You can report misleading or false reviews to Google's My Business group. In some cases, the community forum will find the post on its own and escalate it to Google. You should always present accurate information, regardless of who you contact. False reviews can be deceptive and even illegal.
CBC News' recent investigation revealed a market for fake testimonials. Some companies paid for fake positive review purchases. Others were tricked into paying for negative reviews and other review-fixing services by web companies. One investigation discovered a network that included 1,279 North American businesses. These accounts had posted 3,574 fake comments.
Spam
Google's new ML based algorithm has slowed spam review creation but it isn’t solved. The number of spam reviews that were reported increased to historic highs in April and May. It's unclear if Google is reducing its spam removal algorithm or if these actions are just a response to an increasing number of complaints.

Google Review Filter can be used by businesses to prevent spammy reviews. This tool allows businesses to identify and remove reviews that may be in violation of their policies. The algorithm will identify spam reviews as fake experiences that are meant to manipulate star ratings. It also considers duplicate reviews by the same customer as spam.
Fraudulent reviews
A slew fake Google reviews can lead to major headaches. Thankfully, there are a few ways to identify fake reviews. One of the most effective ways to detect fake reviews is by checking your customer database. Duplicate reviews could indicate that someone has placed an order or bought the product from you. To verify that the reviewer is a real customer, you can also look at their details.
If you notice a review you don't recognize, try flagging it. Google will review all flagged reviews. But, it is impossible to be sure that it will be taken down. You could lose your online visibility if it is still there.
Google allows you to report suspicious reviews
Google can be contacted if you see a review that appears suspicious. You can do this through the Support tab on your Google My Business page. You can use the email option or the phone number to send your message. Attach a screenshot of your review to Google when you contact them. A Google representative should respond to you within 24 hours.
